Hard to Believe
She's officially ONE! I am really having a hard time wrapping my mind around that. In a lot of ways it seems like she's always been a part of our lives and in someways this past year has come and gone too quickly. Mike and I were sitting there last night talking about how crazy it is that this year has come and gone, and how in some ways it's sad because she won't be that little again, but in so many more ways its pretty exciting. She is developing such a personality. It's a good one too. She laughs with you (and at you) and is generally a happy kid. For her birthday Randy and Vicki got her a Noah's Ark and one of the animals is a lion. After her party Molly was sitting on the floor with her and she told her what a lion says- well guess what her new favorite thing is? Every animal makes that sound. It's pretty darn cute, even if I do say so myself. For her actual BirthDAY we made pancakes (for daddy's 1st day of a new job too). Eden had pancakes and whipped cream. Most, of course, ended up on the floor. After a great nap (1hr 45min) Eden, Auntie, Ashley, Brady and I headed for the Wonder Place. It really is a wonderous place. The girls both had a great time. They both walked (Brady a little better than Eden) all over the place and played until they pretty much collapsed. Here's a photo montage of our time there... To end the day we ate dinner with Molly and Chach (spaghetti) and then took Eden to get ice cream at Coldstone (okay, so that was for us too). So I guess what I am trying to say through all of this rambling is that I can't believe that our baby is one. Thank you for all of your love and support through the past year. We wouldn't have made it this far without everyone's prayers and love. If you read this blog then you love our Eden too and that means a lot. So here's to you Eden-Happy First Birthday! We look forward to many, many more. We love you.

525,600 minutes of Eden
Man, once this inertia thing grabs hold of you it's hard to get moving again--you'd think there was a law of physics about it or something. In reality, we just wanted to boil down our readership from an unmanageable 8 or 9 people to the ever-faithful 1 or 2 (3, if I count myself. I'd say 4 counting Sarah, but she's included in the 1 or 2). We're way behind on pics of Eden; for all you know, she could've turned green and sprouted a third arm by now. Luckily, all she's really done is grow some delicate yet razor-sharp horns on her head. I kid, I kid! They're actually invisible to everyone but Sarah and me, so you'd never notice them. Anyway, on to more important, events, like:
Eden's 1st birthday
Yes, it was momentous enough to merit its own heading in font-size:250%. We had a few close friends over on the tornadorific day that was yesterday (note to future parents: never have a 1st birthday party. Not only will you drive yourself slowly mad over an event your kid couldn't care less about anyway, but you will guarantee a day of absolutely horrible weather. Actually, let me amend this thought--never have a 1st b-day party unless you live in a drought-stricken wasteland, in which case have a new one every day. I promise you'll be living in a rainforest within a month.) to celebrate Eden's first maddening exhilarating year of life. We'll post more pics of the entire event later (I promise!), but for now we tease you with the following slideshow, which in all fairness covers the most exciting part of the party, anyway: Eden's first cake.
Enjoy. She sure did.
